How to Add a Workout to Your Galaxy Watch

The Galaxy Watch series has multiple models running on Tizen and Wear OS. So, we will share the steps and ways to add new exercise modes to your Galaxy Watch running any of these operating systems. Add New Workout Modes on Galaxy Watch 4 and 5

The Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 series, including the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, runs on Wear OS. Therefore, let’s see the steps to add workout modes to your Galaxy Watch:

Step 1: Swipe left on the watch’s home screen two times.

Step 2: Click on More and scroll the workouts to the last. Press the Add button.

Step 3: Here, scroll down and choose from various workout modes to add to the watch.

After selecting, it will directly add the workout mode to your watch, and you can start using it.

Alternatively, you can click on the Add from phone button, and it will open the workout modes list on your phone. You can select the workouts you want to add and click on Add to sync them with your watch.

Add New Workout Modes on Galaxy Watch 3, Gear S3, and Earlier

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and other previous models run on Tizen OS. Follow the steps mentioned below to add workout modes to the supported watches:

Step 1: Rotate the wheel or swipe left on the watch’s home screen to the workout widget.

Step 2: Tap on WORK OUT and scroll down to the last.

Step 3: Click on Add exercise and select the workout modes you want to add to the watch.

Not all the Tizen OS-based Galaxy Watch models support adding workout modes. But you can follow these steps to check if you can add workout modes to your Galaxy Watch.

Enable Automatic Workout Detection

You can also enable automatic workout detection on the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 to detect certain workouts automatically as you start them. Here are the steps mentioned below to do it:

Step 1: Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.

Step 2: Select Watch settings and click on Samsung Health.

Step 3: Tap on Activities to detect and enable it.

Step 4: Enable the toggles of workouts, including walking/running, elliptical trainer, rowing machine, swimming, and dynamic workout for automatic detection.
