Since its launch in 2008, Spotify has slowly penetrated the music streaming industry with its advanced features for easy listening. It’s so ahead of time that more people prefer using it than any other native apps on iPhone and Android.
Throughout the years, many Spotify users only know a handful of tricks about the app, but they have not yet fully explored the other not-so-secret hacks.
For this part, we will discuss some of the tricks you can do on this music streaming platform to maximize your seamless listening.

These not-so-hidden tricks on Spotify will help you stream your favorite songs to the next level.
Join Spotify Group Session
Did you know that Spotify allows users to listen to a song or an album in a group? By clicking the “Group Session,” you can listen to a podcast with your friends, but there’s a catch. It’s only available to Premium users.
To get started, tap the Connect icon you see on the bottom left part of the screen. Then, scroll down until you see “Start a group session,” which will lead you to a shareable URL.
The URL is also scannable by QR code for easy sharing. Once all the participants join, everyone can now play the tracks they want and pause the current playlist.
Turn on Album Shuffle
Before, Spotify’s shuffle button served as a default option for album listeners. However, when “Someone Like You” singer Adele requested the platform to tweak this feature, Spotify immediately updated the default shuffle play.
The Swedish streaming giant has turned off the album shuffle by default which means that you need to switch it on so you can incessantly listen to your favorite playlists before hitting the play button.
Select Your Best Podcast Moments
Spotify is not only limited to music streaming since it already features podcast editions from some content creators.
There are many recommendations you can listen to if you are looking for a worthy podcast episode. Some are motivational and life-changing, but some tell stories about autobiographies, horror stories, and more.
In case you want to bookmark a particular part of the podcast that caught your attention, just click the share button of a specific podcast part and tap “Share from timestamp.”
Make sure to switch this on before you choose where to share your desired part of the clip.

Get Your Favorite Audiobooks
Aside from podcasts and music lists, Spotify also houses audiobooks for different audiences. Some contain children’s books, while other listeners prefer young adult novels, non-fiction audiobooks, and fantasy passages, to name a few.
Since Spotify is against the unfair tax imposed by Apple/Google, you won’t be able to buy these audiobooks on Google Play Store and App Store. The only place you can download them is via the official website of Spotify.
Me-Time Music Streaming
Spotify has a Friend Activity that allows users to share their playlists with their friends on social media. However, this does not appear appealing to some listeners who want to have a me-time with their playlist.
If you don’t want to broadcast your playlist, you can easily switch to a Private session by going to Settings. From here, tap Social, then Private Session.
