How much exercise do you really need?

Exercise is well understood to be good for you, but how much do you need to do in order to tap into its benefits?

In general, the consensus has been that simply doing more exercise increases its effectiveness, but now researchers are getting fresh insights from smart watches and wearable devices. They’re revealing that, in fact, exercising little and often could reduce chances of death from all causes and protect against conditions like coronary heart disease. Those same smart devices are also revealing how sedentary people seem to be and what harms this inactivity can cause.
