BEIJING — Chinese electric car start-up Nio stated Friday it’s shutting a factory for 5 days due to the global shortage in semiconductors.

The manufacturing halt starting March 29 will scale back Nio’s first-quarter deliveries by at the least 500 automobiles, the company said.
