The 2016 Tesla FSD promotional video is staged, as confirmed by Tesla Autopilot Software Director Ashok Elluswamy.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk uses his mobile device as he sits in the car arriving to the construction site for the new plant, the so-called “Giga Factory”, of US electric carmaker Tesla in Gruenheide near Berlin, northeastern Germany.
This detail was revealed in a transcript of a deposition back in July 2022.
This deposition served as evidence in a lawsuit filed against Tesla for a 2018 crash.
The accident was a fatal one because a former Apple engineer was killed during the EV crash.
Now, here’s what Elluswamy revealed about the controversial Tesla FSD promotional video in 2016.
2016 Tesla FSD Promotional Video is Fake?
According to Mashable‘s latest report, Elluswamy’s transcript revealed that the 2016 Tesla FSD hardware promotional video shows features that were not available at that time.

“The intent of the video was not to accurately portray what was available for customers in 2016,” said Ashok.
He added that the advertisement was created to show what Tesla FSD will achieve as years go by.
One of the features shown in the video that wasn’t yet available in 2016 is the capability to respond to traffic lights.
This is not the only thing that Ashok shared. He also revealed that a crash occurred when the FSD promotional video was filmed.
Of course, the accident wasn’t included in the video output.
How the Tesla FSD Video Was Created
Reuters reported that the giant EV maker used 3D mapping to a pre-determined route.
It did this from a house in Menlo Park, California, to Tesla’s headquarters in Palo Alto.

Tesla’s FSD has come a long way ever since it was integrated in 2020. But, this is not the only innovation the automaker focuses on.
