(BPRW) FPL Power to Save event welcomed Miami Gardens residents

(Tech Zone Daily) Miami, Florida – Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) hosted its Power to Save event, which had more than 160 community members and local officials in attendance at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex in Miami Gardens on Friday, March 21. The goal was to engage with the local community and share valuable energy-saving tips and community resources.

The event featured the FPL energy expert team. Attendees learned practical ways to reduce their energy use and lower their electricity bills. In addition, many attendees signed up for free in-home installations of energy efficiency items including LED lighting, advanced power strips, energy-efficient showerheads and more – all designed to help customers keep their bills as low as possible.

Another highlight of the event was FPL’s partnership with Farm Share, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and helping families through local food distribution. Farm Share and FPL volunteers provided fresh groceries and nutritional resources to attendees.

“We’re committed to powering strong communities making Florida an even better place to live and raise a family. We were pleased to bring the Power to Save program to the Miami Gardens community to help our customers learn how to keep their bills as low as possible,” said FPL External Affairs Manager Chelsea Lunn.
