The EU’s DSA list now includes 19 online platforms.

The European Union will require all these social media websites, app stores, and online stores to submit algorithmic risks. The EU announced this decision on Tuesday, Apr. 25.
The economic union said that the VLOSE (Very Large Online Search Engines) and VLOP (Very Large Online Platforms) were chosen based on the user data they had to publish by Feb. 17.
EU DSA List: 19 Online Platforms Now Included!
According to Computer World‘s latest report, the 19 online platforms included in the EU DSA list must comply with the new obligations under the Digital Services Act.

They must do this by Aug. 25 (four months after the announcement). Here’s the complete list of the online platforms that need to follow DSA:

- Alibaba AliExpress
- Amazon Store
- Apple AppStore
- Booking.com
- Google Play
- Google Maps
- Google Shopping
- Snapchat
- TikTok
- Wikipedia
- YouTube
- Zalando
EU said it would mandate algorithmic transparency requirements to drive accountability in the included online platforms.
If they can’t comply, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, and other social media websites and other online sites will face penalties of up to 6% of their global annual turnover.
Other DSA Requirements
Aside from having algorithmic transparency, the European Union said that the 19 online platforms should do the following:
- Giving users more control over their data (the right to opt-out from recommendation systems, reporting illegal content easily, advertisement transparency, etc.)
- Giving more protection to young users (Redesigned systems, special risk assessments, etc.)
- Less disinformation and more effective content moderation (analyzing specific risks, measures to address online risks linked to illegal content dissemination, etc.)
