Google Pixel Watch Fall Detection Starts Rolling Out

As per a report by XDA Developers, the first smartwatch of Google is capable of a fall detection feature. However, the Pixel Watch debuted without it. So it got some users patiently waiting for its much-awaited arrival.

The renowned tech firm says that the safety feature is coming to Pixel Watch users in 2023. And as we welcome the new year, some users are starting to get their hands on the much-awaited Fall Detection feature.

According to a news story by 9to5 Google, some users are getting their hands on the Fall Detection feature ahead of everyone else.

The much-awaited safety function appears after a user reset the Pixel Watch. Upon doing so, a prompt asked the owner to set up Fall Detection.

How to Use Fall Detection?

Essentially, XDA Developers report that Fall Detection allows the Pixel Watch to detect if their users experienced hard falls. From there, the feature should ask its owners if they want to contact emergency services. If users failed to respond, it would automatically reach out to the authorities.

If the feature started rolling out to your Pixel Watch, here’s how you can access it.

Go to the Setting menu of your wearable. Then, select “Safety & Emergency” and toggle “Fall detection.”

It is worth noting that other popular smartwatches, such as the Apple Watch Series 8 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, offer the same detection feature right off the bat. And this time, Pixel Watch users seem to be getting their hands on a similar safety function.

9to5 Google notes in its story that the search engine firm has yet to announce the release of the said feature. In fact, the online media outlet added that a support page is still unavailable as of writing.

For now, if you are keen on getting it right away, you will have to reset your Pixel Watch. If that sounds like a hassle, you may wait for its official rollout instead.
