How to Install Snapchat on Galaxy Watch 4 or 5
Snapchat is not officially available for Galaxy Watch yet, but you can easily sideload the APK and use it on your Galaxy watch 4 and 5. And while it’s a little tough to operate on such a small circular screen, you can still use many features like watching snaps, friends list, messages, sharing snaps, etc.
Let’s now check out how to install and use Snapchat on the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5.
Pre-requisites:
Enable ADB Debugging on Galaxy Watch
Firstly, to sideload the Snapchat APK on your Galaxy Watch 4 or 5, you have to enable ADB debugging on the watch. Ensure the watch and phone are connected to the same WiFi network. Then, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Swipe up on the watch’s home screen.
Step 2: Click the settings icon and go to the About watch section.
Step 3: Select Software info and tap several times on the Software version until it shows “Developer mode turned on.”
Step 4: Go back to the settings page and select Developer options.
Step 5: Enable the ADB debugging toggle and confirm it.
Step 6: After that, select Wireless debugging, enable the toggle, and click on Allow.
Step 7: Enable Debug over Wi-Fi, and it will show an IP address in a few seconds. Note down the IP address without the 5555 string- it’s not required.
Connect Phone with Galaxy Watch Over WiFi
Now, you have to connect your phone and the watch over WiFi to sideload the APK through the IP address. Here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: Install the Easy Fire Tools app on your phone and open it.
Step 2: Press the Agree button and click on the sidebar menu icon.
Step 3: Select Settings and Click on IP Address.
Step 4: Enter the watch’s IP address you noted earlier and click OK.
Step 5: Go back to the app’s homepage and click on the plug icon at the top right corner.
Step 6: Click on Continue and confirm the debugging request on the watch.
The watch is successfully connected to your phone for debugging and sideloading the APK over WiFi.
Sideload Snapchat APK on Galaxy Watch
After connecting the watch and phone, it’s time to sideload the Snapchat APK. Check out the steps mentioned below to do it:
Step 1: Open Easy Fire Tools and click the CUSTOM APK FILE option.
Step 2: Click on Select file and select the Snapchat APK file from your phone.
Step 3: Click on the Install button and confirm sideloading.
It will transfer and install the APK to your Galaxy Watch in a few minutes.
Using Snapchat on Galaxy Watch 4 and 5
Finally, after sideloading the APK, you can use Snapchat on your Galaxy Watch 4 or 5. Follow the steps mentioned below to use it:
Step 1: Swipe up on the watch’s home screen.
Step 2: Scroll down and click on the Snapchat icon.
Step 3: You will see some misplacement due to the smaller screen size, but click on Log in to continue.
Step 4: Allow permission and log in with your phone number and password.
Step 5: Now, tap on the bottom button icon and allow some permissions.
Step 6: After that, it will show a camera error which will come as there is no camera on the watch. Click on CANCEL.
Step 7: On the homepage of the app, it will show a regular camera interface. You can click on the friends’ icon, check snaps, and add friends from there.
You can also access features like sharing snaps, and messages, watching stories, and more. You cannot create stories on the watch, though.
