Data collected from Tesla’s electrical cars in China is stored in China, the U.S. automaker’s vp stated, after reviews that China’s navy has banned Teslas from its services.
“Tesla as an organization with operations in China should abide China’s legal guidelines and rules,” Tao Lin advised reporters in Beijing on Tuesday.
“Our data is very properly protected. Chinese data is stored in China.”
Tao stated Tesla, which is constructing electrical Model three sedans and Model Y sport-utility autos in Shanghai, would share its understanding of data safety with the Chinese authorities.
Sources advised Reuters on Friday that the Chinese military had banned Tesla cars from getting into its complexes, citing safety issues over cameras put in on the autos.
Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk stated in March his firm could be shut down if its cars had been used to spy.
