The Urban Pro M smartwatch features Bluetooth calling with a microphone and a loudspeaker and takes its strap design inspiration from the Apple Watch Ultra. Priced at just Rs. 1,999, it’s one of the cheapest Bluetooth-calling smartwatches out there, and here’s our full review of Urban Pro M with pros and cons.

Urban Pro M Review

The watch comes in five different colors; we’ve got the orange variant here. Let’s unbox it first to see what we get inside the box and then get on with the Urban Pro M watch review.

Urban Pro M: Design and Build Quality

The smartwatch’s design is inspired a lot by the Apple Watch Ultra. Even the form factor of the watch unit is quite similar. The strap is bright orange with the Infinity Loop design to match the Apple Watch styling.

The case is made of metal which gives it the needed weight and premium feel. There is a nice curve to the core glass on the display which blends beautifully with the frame. It’s also IP68 water and dust resistant which makes it a great companion in all weather conditions.

Urban Pro M Review Design

We see a crown placed on the right side of the watch which also acts as a button to press for navigating around the interface. It rotates with nice feedback and you can use it to scroll in the user interface.

The right also houses a mic hole for calling purposes. The left gets a really nice slit in the case which acts as an opening for the loudspeaker and there is a mesh inside which can keep the water out of the loudspeaker. The rear of the watch is not that much interesting, you get a sensor module in the center alongside the charging points.

Coming back to the straps, we can see that it uses the pin and buckle mechanism to fasten the smartwatch. The material used is a bit stiff but the design of the straps makes it feel soft on the skin.

A good part about the strap design is that the second loop on the strap can be adjusted according to your wrist size. These straps are easily replaceable with any aftermarket 22mm straps using the quick-release mechanism provided at the back.

Urban Pro M: Display

Urban Pro M comes with a large 1.91 inches display with 2.5D curved glass on top for good looks and scratch resistance. The bezels are uniform on the three sides with a thick chin below the display.

The display has a nice smooth finish on top with a good enough touch response. The interface however brings down the experience a bit, a 60Hz display would have been a better addition to the watch.

Urban Pro M Review Display

According to the brand’s claims, the display has a brightness of 550 nits which is great for outdoor usage. We tested the display for brightness on our brightness meter and got a score of above 190 which is a decent score for a smartwatch.

There are no light sensors provided so the brightness can only be adjusted manually from the interface which is obvious considering the price range. Overall, the display is good enough for a smartwatch in this price range.

Urban Pro M: Features

Urban Pro M comes with all the basic features that you expect from a smartwatch. It can show you your notifications, your messages, and more. You can configure which notifications to see on your watch using the DaFit app.

The smartphone’s assistant can be triggered using the watch but the command can only be given to the smartphone directly. There are games and a calculator app to give you more productivity than any other smartwatch at this price.

You can control a few smartphone features like the camera shutter and music right from the watch. There is no reply feature to messages which is quite disappointing, even the calls cannot be declined with a message.

The crown works both ways, you can scroll through menus easily using the rotating crown and then quickly press it to make a selection. Overall, the set of features is pretty basic but all the features work very fluently which is a plus.

Urban Pro M: Health Features

Urban Pro M comes with a bunch of health-related sensors and hardware, this includes a pedometer, an HR sensor, and the SpO2 sensor. Using these sensors, the heart rate, the steps, and the blood oxygen can be easily measured when needed.

Apart from those obvious ones, it comes with a Stress monitor, Blood Pressure Monitor, and sleep monitoring. The accuracy may be a concern here because the sensors are not very accurate.

There are more than 100 sports modes that can only be started manually from the watch since there is no auto-workout detection. All of the workout modes are available on the watch itself so no need for the app to enable the additional sports modes. You get continuous heart rate monitoring which helps a lot if you want full-day data for heart rate.

Urban Pro M: User Interface and App

The watch interface and the app is very barebones, there are no fancy animations or graphics thrown around to attract the user. The interface is a bit stuttery even though the display’s touch response is very good. This means that the watch’s interface is the culprit here making the usage not very responsive. But we have to give it to the brand to add so many features to the interface that most smartwatches even with a higher price tag lacks.

The DaFit app is also very basic and it looks like a very bootleg app that can be used by many Chinese smartwatches. The app still provides full support to the smartwatch and lets you configure a bunch of features.

You get a face gallery in the app that lets you even create custom watch faces. I liked the AI watch face maker that lets you easily take a snap of your outfit and it will create a matching colored watch face for you.

Urban Pro M: Bluetooth Calling

The Urban Pro M comes with a Bluetooth calling feature which is a much-desired feature in the given price range. It only needs to be connected only once to the smartphone for the Bluetooth calling to be working. You get the call log, the dialer, and a contacts list on the watch to help you make calls from the watch itself when connected.

There is a microphone and a loudspeaker available on the watch to answer calls through the watch. Whenever you get a call, you will get a vibration as well as sound feedback on the watch. Once picked up, you can easily transfer the call to the phone, mute the microphone and hang the call.

Urban Pro M: Connectivity and Battery Life

The Urban Pro M comes with Bluetooth version 5.1 for connectivity and connecting it to your smartphone is very easy and hassle-free. The connection stays mostly strong and I never experience any disconnection.

Once paired, the watch quickly connects to the watch when Bluetooth is enabled. The watch face transfer speed is also good enough, it’s not as fast as I expected but it’s still okay.

Urban Pro M Review Battery

We don’t have the information on the exact capacity of this battery but it gives you about four days of usage with Bluetooth calling.

If you don’t use Bluetooth calling a lot, you will get double the battery backup. The watch can be charged using the provided magnetic charger which you need to use with your own charging brick. It tops up the battery to 100 percent in about an hour.

Urban Pro M Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Great Design
  • Bluetooth Calling
  • Large display
  • Long battery backup

Cons

  • The interface is choppy
  • Loudspeaker is not very loud

Urban Pro M Review: Verdict

Urban Pro M is a great smartwatch if you want an entry-level smartwatch with Bluetooth calling capability and you don’t want to spend a ton of money. At Rs 1,999 you get very good value for money including some decent features and an amazing Apple watch-inspired strap design.
