X Updating Terms of Service
It seemed that X is actively encouraging users to move on from Twitter, and this isn’t just about rhetoric. It is reflected in the company’s updated terms of service.
Users are now receiving pop-up notifications regarding these new terms, which will come into play on September 29. According to The Verge, one notable change is the replacement of “tweet” with “post,” effectively marking the end of the era of the word “tweet.”
The updated terms introduce several rebranding adjustments, most notably a widespread replacement of the term “Twitter” with “X.” However, it’s interesting to note that some URLs within the terms, such as this one referring to a developer-focused website, still retain the “Twitter” reference.
While there have been indications of a complete transition to URLs featuring “X,” traces of Twitter’s presence still linger in certain areas. Additionally, mentions of Periscope, Twitter’s defunct live-streaming app, have been erased from the terms.

Other Changes on X
Other modifications to the terms are also noteworthy. For instance, one clause stipulates that when utilizing X, you waive the right, to the extent permitted by law, to engage as a plaintiff or member of a class in any alleged class action, collective action, or representative action proceeding.
Furthermore, there’s a notable alteration in relocating content related to the misuse of X’s services to a fresh section. According to CNBC, this revision carries a clear and direct prohibition against web scraping, a practice that Elon Musk strongly opposes.
Similarly, X owner Elon Musk confirmed that the company is actively developing the Notes feature, which is expected to be renamed as Articles.
In response to a tweet, Musk affirmed that Articles would enable users to compose lengthy, intricate articles accompanied by various media types. He further emphasized that the platform’s capabilities would even allow users to publish extensive content, akin to authoring a book.
Musk also affirmed that this new feature would cater to longer-form content. He noted that users would have the capacity to utilize this platform for purposes such as publishing books, crafting in-depth news articles, or sharing comprehensive research studies.
Basically, it hinted at Articles evolving into a versatile space for extended and diverse written content. This move reflects X’s commitment to accommodate users seeking a platform for more in-depth and expansive forms of media content, moving beyond the constraints of traditional short-form tweets.
