2021
Now that’s it’s officially out, the PS5 is pretty hard to find due to low stock and high demand. As PlayStation fans continue to check the PS5 restocks, one of the most crucial accessories many players need alongside this extremely in-demand system is a headset. Not only does a headset enhance your gaming experience with its immersive qualities, but thanks to the variety of incredible multiplayer games available, you’ll need something to interact with your friends and other players. Thankfully, there are tons of wireless options available so we put together a list that features some of the best wireless PS5 headsets on the market.
The official model:
Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
Staff Pick
Following Sony’s line of wireless headsets for its consoles, the PULSE 3D is the latest headset for the PS5. It offers 3D audio support, as well as dual noise-canceling microphones. The headset also up to 12 hours of life through its built-in rechargeable battery, and better yet, will work across both the PS5 and PS4 with a wireless adapter. Like the console itself, the new headset is sold out everywhere.
One of the best:
Sennheiser GSP 370
Sennheiser has always been known for its incredible audio quality, and the GSP 370 is no different. It comes with a bit of a premium price, but Sennheiser’s wireless gaming headset is simply one of the best options out there for various reasons. Not only does it offer great sound quality, but it also features a sleek design while claiming to have an absolutely incredible, 100-hour battery life. If you’re in the market for a high-tier headset, this is for you.
3D audio:
SteelSeries Arctis 7P for PlayStation 5
It doesn’t get much better than this. SteelSeries made a near-perfect PS5 headset with the Arctis 7P, combining legendary comfort with sublime 3D audio capabilities and long 24-hour battery life. It may be sold out at most retailers, but it’s well worth the asking price should you find it in stock. There simply isn’t a better headset for Sony’s newest console, and once you pick this one up, you probably won’t want to use another. Good luck finding it in stock though.
Steller battery life:
HyperX Cloud II Wireless – Gaming Headset
HyperX may not be the brand you first think of when you think of solid headsets, but the company has been making some of the best for quite some time. The HyperX Cloud II is no different, offering a comfortable fit, solid audio quality, and, most importantly, an extremely great battery life, averaging about 30 hours per use.
Tournament ready:
Astro Gaming – ASTRO A50 + Base Station RF Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones
Astro is one of the most well-known names in gaming headsets, and its A50 represents the top of the line when it comes to accessories. The newest headset offers an incredibly comfortable fit, virtual 7.1 surround sound audio, and a uni-directional microphone to help capture your voice in the best way possible. Just keep in mind it needs an adapter for full compatibility on PS5.
All-around quality:
Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset
Razer makes some of the best headsets in the business, and that’s evident with the BlackShark V2 Pro. The earcups provide exceptional comfort over long gaming sessions and can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. It pairs perfectly to PS5 with a wireless USB dongle and you’ll be getting the best sound out of your games in no time.
Colorful:
Logitech G733
Turtle Beach outdid itself with the Stealth 700 Gen 2, making a wonderful wireless headset for PS5. Though it has a shorter range than some (30 feet), it delivers a good 20 hours of battery life in a comfortable package. Designed with cooling gel-infused earcups and supporting 3D audio and Bluetooth capabilities, this option should be on anyone’s list.
Crystal clear mic:
Corsair Virtuoso
Corsair made a stunning headset with the Virtuoso and one that packs one of the best microphones we’ve seen on a headset. Its beautiful design is matched in equally great audio quality. For anyone who plays multiplayer games and chats a lot, this is the headset for you. Your teammates will hear you crystal clear.
Find the headset that’s best for you
Finding the best PS5 headset can be a little difficult. When shopping for one, you’ll want to find the best possible sound quality without sacrificing microphone quality and how comfortable it is. After all, you’ll likely be wearing it for long periods of time, so you don’t want to get something that will leave you uncomfortable after just an hour or so.
If you’re looking for something that will definitively work on the PS5 and is built with its specifications in mind, then the new SteelSeries Arctis 7P is for you. With 3D audio support and a wonderfully comfortable fit, this USB-C headset is a great addition to your collection and definitely worth buying.
Spend a bit more and you can pick up the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, another top-tier headset from a brand name company you know you can trust. The BlackShark V2 Pro also offers 24-hours of battery life and supports 7.1 surround sound on PC, which is a nice bonus.
If you’re looking for a comfortable PS4 headset that works extremely well on the PS5, you’ll want to go for the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless headset. It’s extremely comfortable with fantastic audio and a sleek design, though the battery life isn’t great.
Now if you want the best battery life possible, you’ll want either the HyperX Cloud II or GSP 370. While the HyperX Cloud II only has 1/3 of the battery life of the GSP 370 — and still at a whopping 30 hours — I’d say the former is more comfortable than the latter.
Should I get a wired headset?
While a lot of people tend to prefer wireless headsets because of their freedom, a wired headset can still offer spectacular audio. Wired headsets are usually cheaper comparably, so this is the option you’d want if you’re looking for a new headset on a budget. With a wired headset, you also won’t need to worry about battery life as it will always be plugged in and ready to go when you are.
Another important factor to note is that not all wireless headsets will be compatible with PS5. Some connect through Bluetooth, and without an adapter, they won’t work on PS5. Generally, if a headset is wired and connects with a 3.5mm cable, it’s compatible with PS5 and a slew of other devices like Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile.
